PIUG 2008 Northeast Conference

Call for Abstracts

You are cordially invited to submit abstracts for the 2008 PIUG Northeast Regional Conference. The conference is a regional one-day conference with vendor-sponsored training sessions scheduled on the day before and two days after the meeting.

The conference will occur at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Vendor workshops have been tentatively scheduled, as follows:

• Monday, Oct. 13: STN Patent Forum
• Wednesday, Oct. 15: Assorted vendor workshops and training
• Thursday, Oct. 16: Thomson Reuters – workshops and training.

The deadline for submittals is Friday, August 29, 2008.

We invite proposals for themes/topics as well as oral presentations of approximately 30 minutes in length. We especially invite submittals from speakers focused on the subjects of due diligence in searching and trends and guidelines for certifying searchers and their techniques and methodologies. Further, we invite recommendations or nominations for invited speakers or panelists to participate in presentations or discussions on these or other topics related to patents.

For abstract submittals, please include:

• name and complete affiliation, including:
• position and title
• full company and organization name
• division or department name
• complete contact information (address/phone/fax)
• biographical sketch
• title or topic
• abstract

Please note:

• This information will appear in the program book; therefore, please ensure that it is exactly as you wish it to appear.
• All submittals will be reviewed by the Conference Program Committee.  Further information on the conference technical program, including topics and agenda, will be published in the appropriate space and time on the PIUG Home Page
• No presentation devoted to sales or marketing will be accepted for the technical program; however, technology pertinent to the presentation may be detailed.
