PIUG 2004 Annual Conference

An International Conference for Patent Information Professionals

Worldwide Patent Information: Back to Basics

May 22-27, 2004
Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel
Baltimore, MD USA

Technical Session
Proposed Program

The conference will feature world-renowned experts on patent information for technology research and planning, for legal organizations, and for overall corporate IP management (technology licensing and related activities). The vision for this conference is to provide practical, applicable information which will help each of us to improve our skills regardless of our technical area. The conference will include many opportunities for discussion during one of our three panel discussions: “Ask PIUG”, “Ask the Manager (of the Patent Office)” , and “Ask the Expert” . Tuesday afternoon will be dedicated to Product Reviews in the Exhibition Hall. Many workshops will also be held in conjunction with this meeting (before and after the technical sessions).

Attendees typically have a professional, scientific, or technical interest in patents and represent a multitude of companies. The PIUG 2003 meeting drew an enthusiastic group of over three hundred people to our three day technical session in Chicago, Illinois. Over 20% of the attendees were from non-US locations, that is, more than 70 people from various countries, including Europe, Japan, Korea, Israel, Italy, and Canada. We expect 400 in 2004.

We hope you will enjoy the excellent technical programming of the PIUG, designed to provide new learning and networking opportunities for the patent information community. We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore.
